QUEENSLAND COMMUNITY
GARDENING GATHERING

Information about this event will be available on this site soon - including photos, workshop documentation, references, community garden listing...and more. Thank you to all who participated and made this inaugural event such a success. From now, there will be 6 monthly gatherings of QLD Community Garden Groups.

Saturday 5th October 2002
10am - 4pm
at the EcoCentre, Crystal Waters, Conondale, Queensland

In Queensland, the interest in community gardening, city farming and community food systems is rapidly growing. Over the past 12 months many new groups have formed around the state. In response to this very encouraging trend, we are organising a Community Gardening Gathering at Crystal Waters on Saturday 5th October.

This is an opportunity for groups to share information and ideas, and to explore issues with which they need some support. We hope that this will become an annual event to facilitate the ongoing sharing and exchange, and to keep the communication flowing. If you are involved with an existing community garden group, or would like to start a new garden, please come along. We invite each community garden and city farm in Queensland to send at least one representative.

The program of the day will be designed around the identified needs of the attendees. With your registration form, please tick the boxes relating to your key areas of interest and/or write a few comments about what you would like to explore on the day. Displays, brochures and photos from your project are welcomed.
