About SEED International

AIM
The aim of SEED International is to contribute to the emergence of an ecological and sustainable future through ecoliteracy and ecodesign.


INTRODUCTION
SEED International is based at the internationally acclaimed Crystal Waters Permaculture Village, Australia Crystal Waters, an consciously-designed ecological village, has received a United Nations World Habitat Award for its "pioneering work in demonstrating new low-impact and sustainable ways of living".


Directors, Mo
rag Gamble and Evan Raymond founded SEED International in 1997. They have over 20 years of combined hands-on and professional experience in this field. Their personal commitment to environmental ethics and positive sustainable change is brought to their professional work and reflected in all the activities of SEED International.


SEED International is experienced in the design and delivery of innovative, flexible and responsive environmental educational programs and ecological design services that meet the needs of participants and clients both in Australia and overseas.


Our expertise is in human capacity development through customised education and training programs, the development of educational resources and inclusive processes of design. Our unique approach includes a focus on sustainable community development, community needs assessment, highly relevant programs, and follow-up and evaluation strategies that result in long-term relationships with our partners.
SEED International addresses the complex web of issues relating to ecological community and economic sustainability from three perspectives.


GLOBAL: SEED International addresses issues that are trans-national both in their causes and consequences.


INTERNATIONAL: SEED International’s operations and project support extends overseas especially to the Asia-Pacific Region, Europe and the Americas.


LOCAL: SEED International is committed to working with local communities to develop positive, sustainable and appropriate solutions.


GOALS

To address key global issues through a focus on local communities, cultures and environments
To raise awareness about, understanding of and commitment to sustainability - ecological, agricultural, social, cultural and economic.

To integrate knowledge from the natural and social sciences in order to better understand the causes and consequences of the global environmental challenges and their human dimensions, and provide a basis for informed planning and design.
To further the development of integrated methods of environmental planning and design in order to provide the means for strengthening the interactions and positive relationships between society and environment.
To develop and share appropriate strategies to enable organisations, communities and individuals to work towards sustainability and positive change.
To provide skills and tools to work effectively towards ecological sustainability
To widely communicate and publish positive news about successful sustainability projects so as to facilitate further action for a sustainable future.
